Trail Clearing in Northeast Ohio
ATV trails, hunting access, farm lanes, firebreaks, and utility corridors cleared cleanly across Northeast Ohio.
Trail clearing turns unusable woods, overgrown fence rows, and brushy field edges into practical access. Apex Land Services creates trails for ATVs, UTVs, hunting, farm maintenance, utility access, and general property management across Northeast Ohio. The goal is not just to knock brush down. It is to build a route that drains reasonably, can be maintained, and matches how you will actually use the land.
We start by walking the route and looking at grade, wet spots, tree size, turns, property lines, and where equipment can enter safely. On many projects, forestry mulching is the cleanest approach because brush, saplings, vines, and small trees are processed in place. That leaves a natural mulch layer instead of piles that need burning or hauling.
Trail width depends on the use. Walking paths and shooting lanes can stay narrow. ATV and UTV trails usually need more room for turns and side clearance. Farm lanes and access roads may need additional clearing, stump work, or rough grading so trucks or equipment can pass without fighting ruts and low limbs.
Apex serves wooded acreage, farms, hunting properties, rural homesites, and recreational parcels across the region. We can clear a single access lane, reopen an old trail, or create a connected trail system that ties together fields, stands, food plots, ponds, and work areas.
We also think through maintenance before the first pass. A trail that is too narrow, holds water, or turns too sharply will grow back faster and be harder to use. When needed, we can widen corners, open small landing areas, leave screening where privacy matters, and identify sections that may need future stone, grading, or culvert work.
If the route crosses soft ground or steep terrain, we will explain the tradeoffs before work begins. Some areas can be mulched cleanly in dry conditions, while others should wait for better ground or be handled with a lighter touch. That planning protects the property and keeps the finished trail from becoming a muddy shortcut that fails after the first season.
For hunting and recreational properties, we can also phase work so the most important access gets opened first. That might mean clearing the main loop, then adding short spurs to stands, field edges, or overlook points after you see how the property moves. The result is a cleaner layout, better long-term access, and less unnecessary disturbance. We keep the route practical, maintainable, and matched to your actual equipment.
Pricing Range
Most trail clearing starts around $12–$25 per linear foot, with short shooting lanes or light access routes often landing in the $1,600–$3,500 range. Longer wooded corridors, steep ground, wet access, and projects that need stump grinding or rough grading are quoted after a site walk.
