Trail clearing turns unusable woods, overgrown fence rows, and brushy field edges into practical access. We start by walking the route and looking at grade, wet spots, tree size, turns, property lines, and where equipment can enter safely. On many projects, forestry mulching is the cleanest approach because brush, saplings, vines, and small trees are processed in place. That leaves a natural mulch layer instead of piles that need burning or hauling.

Trail width depends on the use. Walking paths and shooting lanes can stay narrow. ATV and UTV trails usually need more room for turns and side clearance. Farm lanes and access roads may need additional clearing, stump work, or rough grading so trucks or equipment can pass without fighting ruts and low limbs.

If the route crosses soft ground or steep terrain, we will explain the tradeoffs before work begins. Some areas can be mulched cleanly in dry conditions, while others should wait for better ground or be handled with a lighter touch. That planning protects the property and keeps the finished trail from becoming a muddy shortcut that fails after the first season.

For hunting and recreational properties, we can also phase work so the most important access gets opened first. That might mean clearing the main loop, then adding short spurs to stands, field edges, or overlook points after you see how the property moves.
